Adore’s flagship line, Decoria® 5mm, combines beauty, resilience, and reliability with a designer-driven palette of both contemporary and classic design.
When it comes to LVT / LVP, dimensional stability has become a major issue in our industry. Through Fishman, Lighthouse Adhesives, and Adore Floors, we have taken steps to mitigate your risk.
Are you aware of the many reasons that a less expensive product is not always the best solution? It could lead to much bigger problems down the road.
Did you know?
- Document site conditions, acclimation, and moisture readings before installation. This is critical for defending against claims
- Make sure that your interior ambient temperature is between 65-85 degrees Fahrenheit
- Identify any areas of the space that have extreme temperature swings and mitigate the effects with window blinds
- Make sure that you acclimate the product to its final environment for 48 hours
- Make sure that your concrete slab is at proper temperature between 65-85 degrees Fahrenheit
- Make sure the substrate is free of all dirt, debris, and any bond-breakers
- Make sure that your surface is smooth and level. Ultimately, a self-leveling product is superior to a troweled-on underlayment
- Make sure that you do relative humidity testing and that it is 85% or less. If it exceeds 85%, address the issue with Ardex, Mapei, Maxxon, or Wakol products
- Do a visual inspection of the product, making sure that it’s square and taking into consideration dye lots
- Leave proper expansion space around walls and fixed objects, per manufacturer guidelines
- Decoria uses a longer fiberglass, which is more expensive than non-woven. It far exceeds competitive products (2.5cm compared to 1cm), giving more contact points and increasing dimensional stability in the core
- Decoria is a calendared product, not extruded, which means it goes through an annealing process. An annealing process puts the product through extreme temperature changes, stabilizing the behavior of the product
- Not only is the core backing calendared, but so is the IXPE backing
- When applying the recommended adhesive, use the correct-sized trowel and change it out frequently
- When using UN1 Glue Ultra Transitional, you achieve a 62-lb sheer strength, leading the industry, which contributes to the strength of not only the bond but potential movement in the PVC itself
- Consult your Fishman rep for the proper floor protection, such as coverboard
- No rolling loads for 24 hours post-installation
