• Decoria® 5mm

    Adore® | Luxury Vinyl

Adore’s flagship line, Decoria® 5mm, combines beauty, resilience, and reliability with a designer-driven palette of both contemporary and classic design.

When it comes to LVT / LVP, dimensional stability has become a major issue in our industry. Through Fishman, Lighthouse Adhesives, and Adore Floors, we have taken steps to mitigate your risk.

Are you aware of the many reasons that a less expensive product is not always the best solution? It could lead to much bigger problems down the road.

Did You Know?

  • Document site conditions, acclimation, and moisture readings before installation. This is critical for defending against claims.
  • Make sure that your interior ambient temperature is between 65°-85°F.
  • Relative humidity testing must be 85% or less. Excess moisture must be addressed with the appropriate Ardex, Mapei, Maxxon, or Wakol products.
  • Identify any floor surfaces with temperature swings beyond 15°F and mitigate the effects with blinds or window treatments.
  • Allow at least 48 hours for flooring acclimation, while resting flat, with an operational HVAC.
  • Concrete slabs should measure between 65°-85°F, prior to installation.
  • The substrate must be free of all dirt, debris, foreign substances, and bond-breakers or parting compounds.
  • Subfloor surfaces must be dry, smooth, sturdy, and level before installation. Ultimately, a self-leveling product is superior to a troweled-on underlayment. Refer to ASTM Standard F710 “Subfloor Flatness” – you cannot be out of level more than 1/8” over a 6’ span, without excessive deflection.
  • Do a visual inspection of the product, making sure that it’s square and taking into consideration dye lots while staging material.
  • This would be a good time to set aside some attic stock, for two reasons: damage to floor and the event of a claim. When possible, it should be stored in the same room environment as the project site.
  • Consider that over time, the adhesive is drawn into the underside of the floor, making any undulations in the subfloor progressively more troublesome. In the event of a related claim, measure the attic stock against product that is performing in the field.
  • Leave proper expansion space around walls and fixed objects, per manufacturer guidelines.
  • There are two types of recycled PVC: pre-consumer and post-industrial. We know that recycled material can be a benefit for the ecological environment. However, recycled materials can be risky if there are contaminants, which can interfere with the bond and structure of the product.
  • Decoria is comprised of 8 carefully balanced layers for maximum durability and stability: UV-cured polyurethane topcoat with aluminum oxide, an industry-leading 30mil virgin wear layer, a printed film layer, 3 fiberglass-reinforced core layers, a balance layer, and a dense 7.5x IXPE acoustic pad.
  • Decoria utilizes a longer, higher-quality fiberglass in greater concentrations than competing products by as much as 250%, permitting better cross-linking and increasing core dimensional stability.
  • Decoria is not extruded, but fully calendared down to the IXPE pad, allowing for a thorough annealing process. Annealing subjects the product to extreme temperature changes, strengthening bonds, relaxing the product, and stabilizing flooring behavior.
  • The unique calendering method of attaching the IXPE pad permits the greatest bond strength between the pad and core of all acoustic LVT.
  • Take note of the updated IIC 57 acoustic results from an improved IXPE pad since the product was first developed.
  • When applying the recommended adhesive, use the correctly-sized trowel and change it out frequently.
  • When using UN1 Glue Ultra Transitional, you achieve an industry-leading 62-lb sheer strength, which contributes unparalleled bond strength and helps protect against flooring movement.
  • Consult your Fishman rep for the proper floor protection, such as coverboard.
  • No rolling loads for 24 hours post-installation.
  • Ultimately, there is no ASTM standard that defines an allowable or acceptable end gap size for installed LVT or LVP. The ASTM standard only addresses manufacturing tolerances and dimensional stability.
